Why Aerate Compost Tea?

Aerated compost tea (ACT or AACT) is a method that involves taking compost, water and a food source in a container and adding oxygen via an air pump. Not only does aerating compost tea make it last longer, but it also helps boost the diversity and biomass of the soils and leaves.

Not only this, ACT also increases nutrient cycling in soil, which basically means that it helps plants uptake the nutrients and minerals in a form that works for them.

This means that you’re not directly feeding the plant as many people think, instead, you’re feeding the microorganisms in the soil that then work hard to convert nutrients into a form that benefits the plants.

What’s more, because of the increase in biomass in the soil it also improves its water holding capacity.
